Light & Salt

Dr. Thompson wants the Church to do its job: to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth, and not a cheerleader for wickedness in high places.

Truth to Power

Dr. Thompson is a person of faith who takes the Bible to be true. He believes that if he is to speak truth to power, it must be God's truth — the truth that changes the world, not his own. That is his goal: to bring God's truth to the people. He points to the example of Christ, who spoke truth to power but made it always about the One who says, "I am the way, the life, and the Truth."

Christ became one of us to reach us. Dr. Thompson calls readers to take a long look at Christ in the wisdom of His love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness — and to extend that same spirit to others.

Books Behind Bars

Dr. Thompson has a special initiative called the Books Behind Bars (BBB) Program, through which he donates copies of his books to prisoners and seeks opportunities to engage them in conversation on the topics of the books.

This initiative flows from his decades of prison outreach ministry — including at the famed Joliet Maximum Security Prison — and his deep belief that truth and wisdom belong to every person, regardless of circumstance.
