Dr. Thompson saw America like a seesaw, with Folly on one side and Wisdom on the other. Everywhere he looked, Folly was rising to the top while Wisdom struggled to find her legs and get up. In the book, Wisdom is personified as a lady — abused, sidelined, struggling to rise. This is the most urgent call in our times to care before she dies on our watch.
